"Martin Eden" is the most famous novel by Jack London, first published in 1908-1909. In many ways, an autobiographical book about a man who "made himself", getting out of the bottom, achieved recognition. Love for a girl from high society encourages the hero to engage in self-education. He becomes a writer, but all publishing houses refuse him publication. And as often happens in life, having gone through hardships and humiliation, having been rejected by his girlfriend, he finally becomes famous. But neither fame, nor money, nor success, nor even the return of his beloved can save Martin from disappointment in this completely false life.
