The Heirs of Triglav. Book One

The hero of the first book of the "Heirs of Triglav" series is a twelve-year-old orphan Lanek, nicknamed Tow. The boy is trying to find his place in a world ruled by Balance - a state machine that strictly controls the balance of science and magic. The formerly warring Empire of Wandering Magicians and the Republic of Free Masters, where the hero comes from, have become a single state led by Balance, but even in this New Empire, contradictions and old enmity do not subside. Lanek dreams of becoming a master of mechanics; he, as a resident of the Republic, hates magic. The hero also has a family secret - a talisman of the ancient deity Triglav. A meeting with master Daren gives the boy a chance to realize his plans, but the path to his dream turns out to be full of all sorts of hardships, dangers and misadventures. Instead of mechanics' school, Lanek ends up in a shelter for street children, where he meets both new enemies and true friends. For the sake of friendship, he escapes from the orphanage, but returns back to meet his enemies face to face. The hero will have to take a fresh look at the world and himself and, overcoming weakness, cowardice and prejudice, find himself in the very center of grandiose events.
The book received the International Children's Literary Prize named after V.P. Krapivin. Readers can expect a sequel.
